vol.69 Indigo Batik Stole 01/05/2012
Japanese plant indigo (Ai) is often referred to as “Japan Blue” outside of
the country. Its long history goes back to the Nara Period.
These large stoles were created by dying the original fabric with a variegated
Ai and by utilizing bassen techniques, wax-resist dying.
They are modern-looking, and vintage as well! The Ai evolution
continues....we call our indigo, 45rpm Blue.
